I have a 1987 300E with 145,000mi.I have changed the plugs, rotor and cap.The car runs fine. The problem is getting it started once it has sat for a while.Once I get it started and let it warm up it will start on the first try.If the car sit over night I have a time getting it started. It will start eventually, but it sure takes a while.Again once I let it warm up it will start on the first try.Any Ideas on what might be causing this problem.Any help would be greatly appreciated.

No cold start enrichment due to no power from OVP. Often just the fuse.

Is your ABS light on? If the fuse is blown the ABS light should also be on. It would seem that it should always be on if the OVP relay is bad, but the problem is often where the terminal to the CIS-E leaves the OVP and this doesn't turn on the ABS light.

OVP=overvoltage protection relay. It is like a UPS for the cars control units. It is located behind the battery with a number of control units. It is silver, smaller than the rest and has a fuse under a plastic cover on the top.

Since you have the ABS light on its very likely that the only problem is the fuse on top. It you pull the relay out of its mount you will be able to find the date code on the device. If it is the original (date code before prod date) I would advise replacing it. It has so many ways of failing that replacement can prevent intermittant problems.

Yes, partsshop should be able to provide it if you need one.
