Advice please about SDS
I successfully installed, or so I thought, a CD changer on a '01 SLK320. I worked for 4 days and I read here on the board that it would stop working at some point because of the SDS. Well, it has stopped working. The head unit isn't recognizing it and says there's no CD changer installed.
Do I need to go to a dealer, or is this something I can figure out myself. |

Have you configured the D2B ring?

have you configured the changers installation orientation to verticle rather than the factory horozontal default factory setting? there are two little levers attaches to springs under plastic covers with holes in them. they must be set at the correct mounting setting or the unit will fail to operate. i would check theat first. i recommend to properly configure the D2b ring, but the unit should still play.

d2b ring is the fiber optic cable(s) that the radio sends signals to the CD player..
You need someone with MB dealer equiptment to "configure" the D2b ring to include the CD player
