I always get the BIGGEST laugh...

I also prefer sleek shapes that are easily recognizeable from a distance. But the W126 isn't flawless. Personally I feel the W126 could've been improved by an integrated grille ala W140, and Euro lights standard, with a more flush tail (below decklid), and the taillights could've been ribbed to a lesser degree.

Perhaps what others say about newer MB's is true. Perhaps not. You'll never know until you try one for yourself. You can't say they're good if you haven't owned one.
I believe there is credence to customer's testimonials based on my own lesser dealings with Mercedes.
when I go to the local Mercedes dealer for a part. I always park my old w126 in the new car lot amongst the futuristic models. Its like going to visit George Jetson... but I can always find my car.

How about the R 350?? I saw one the other day.

Mercedes meets the Chrysler mini-van.

well

yeah, the r class does make me squirm a little.

but i havent driven one either. they dont interest me, like mini vans and most of the suvs.

for familys with young kids the mini vans are so very convenient. but to me they arent very safe. roll over too easily and dont handle all that well. ditto for most suvs too.

i have owned six suburbans because i always had a largish travel trailer to pull. half were diesels. hte last one i had was gas simply cause i couldnt find a good used one in diesel.

maybe i should drive an r class....naah. no need for one.

Looked at a couple CLS's and S550's yesterday at the dealer. So nice, I need to make more money...

They had a nice SL500 their in black, the new ones are simply stunning. This one was slightly used and offered at $73k.
