Need HELP 300e Starts but cuts off

I have a 1989 300e. When I stoped and got gas the car was running fine. I still had a 1/4 take of gas. When I tryed to leave the car will start but only runs for a few seconds and cuts off. Where do I start to trouble shot this. HELP!
