motor mounts lifespan?
Well now that I am in the middle of replacing valve stem seals and have one of the heads out on a 83 380SL, Is there a benefit in replacing the right side motor mount, or it's just not required? Thanks for your opinions.

If they are original they are shot.

2 years ago at 84K miles, my 560SL's driver's side mount was torn (broken) and the pass side was crushed >1/2" from its original height.

if you have the heads out why aren't you having the valve guides replaced? Stem seals are just band aids on higher mileage motors.
Motor mounts should Always be replaced in pairs..if one has failed the other is soon to follow. Stick w/ the genuine mounts, or lemforder if you want to save a couple of $$. Jonathan
