Mercedes Oil Types

Hey Guys, I have a question for everyone that I can never seem to get a proper answer for. I own a 94 C220, and I have always used 15W40 as my main motor oil. I have used this oil based on the dealerships suggestion when I purchased it, and was told all pre 2000 mercedes use 15W40. Recently in the mornings my car seems to barely fire up, and run's rough for the first few minutes, and everyone I seem to talk to is blaiming it on the 15W40 oil as being to thick.

So I want to know what type of oil everyone out here uses, and wheater the 15W40 oil reccomendation is correct. I would love suggestions on which oil type would be better for me, and what types of synthetic oil options I have. THanks.
