Hard downshift, bad flex disk?

"Hard downshift from 2nd to 1st.
I have a 1999 C230 Kompressor with the learning automatic transmission. I was able to solve the clunk downshift from 2nd to 1st by replacing the front flex disc."

I found this in the Benzworld W202 forum. My '99 C280, 70K miles, has started to occasionaly do the hard 2nd to 1st downshift. Is this an indication the front flex disk is worn out? Anyone else fix a hard downshift this way? I'm being a little lazy , I haven't searched for this yet. I thought I would just throw it out there.
Regards, Dan

A lot of the earlier build 722.6 trannys seem to have developed hard downshifts especially from 3 to 2. It is mostly a control issue and the problem is usually solved with an updated tranny computer.

However, I am not sure if the 99 builds still had this issue from the factory or if it was solved by then.

It's easy to take a look at the flex disks and see if they are significantly cracked or worn.
