I know that this isn't really a tech question, but I'm hoping that someone could help me out. I'm in the market for a grille for my w126 and am unsure about whether all w126's used the same part. I've taken my grille assembly apart and didn't find a part number anywhere on the grille shell. There is a mercedes star stamped into the bottom part of the grille, but I didn't see any numbers. The grille was painted by the previous owner, and I don't know if he used too much paint and filled in the stampings.

The only part number that I found was located on the insert: 126 888 0423 DN. Does anyone here happen to know if a grille from a first generation vehicle (1984) model would fit my 90? Thanks!

yup, if its from a 126 it will fit a 126 thru all the years, 'cept the SECs

I stood staring at the front grills of the 123 and 126 bodies last night.
They sure do look alike to me, I did not do any measuring.

Can a 123 grill be used on a 126 ?
