'93 300E 2.8L B2 reaction valve leak

I have a transmission fluid leak on the passenger side coming from the B2 reaction valve. How difficult is this to repair? Does the transmission have to be removed to replace this B2 reaction valve and o-ring seals? Can anyone give me specific instructions on replacement and where to procure the parts?

My local MB repair shop tried unsuccessfully to epoxy the outside (to the tune of $240) and now tells me they want to replace the transmission with a rebuilt one ($4,150) rather than go inside the tranny to repair the leaking B2 reaction valve just to have the transmission fail in 3-6 months. I think I may be being hosed...
