Find of a lifetime!

HI,
This is my first posting. I just purchased a 1987 300TD Wagon from the original owner - with just 36000 garage kept original miles! I look forward to years of ownership. I've looked through the forums and it seems like it will be very helpful and I hope to be able to contribute also.

You probably already know this, but just in case......make sure the trap oxidizer has been removed from the car.
That is a really good find! Congratulations!

Wow! That is a magnificent find! Not only a diesel, but LOW MILES and ONE OWNER.

How I would love to find a 1984-85 500SEL in that condition/mileage.

Enjoy!!

You're a thief...

...and we're jealous .

Post some photos and welcome to the club,

Kevin

P.S. - start learning the car by examining your rubber parts first - age is your enemy right now, not use/abuse

Sweet!

I have a customer with a burgundy one.

He has over 400,000 miles on it and it looks and runs brand new.
Unbelievable till you see it.

$4k? That's a steal. Give us photos if you can.

87 300td picture

Finally got a picture on my profile. I still have to detail and wax - the previous owner was 96 and not in good health. The only problem I have is that the windows seem to have hard waterspots on them - any good ideas on what to clean them with. I would appreciate any help.

Does anybody have one of these converted to run on WVO. I have seen a lot on the 77 to 85 models but nothing on the OM603 motor.

Interior is spotless. Burgandy with lambswool seat covers in the front. They had 2 layers of floormats front and rear and a big rubber mat in the rear. I even got the luggage rack bars in the original package unused. Does anybody have any suggestions about speaker upgrades - I have read they are an odd size. I have an MP3 player to upgrade but it wouldn't make much sence without good speakers. Any creative subwoofer ideas?
