I have a 98 e class which the sunfoof goes back about 1 inch and then when the back part of the roof drops down it binds up. I took a look and there is no visible obstructions or broken parts. The rear pops up and down fine. Anything I can check out? Thanks

I have a similar problem with my 98 E320. My first attempt was to lubricate the rails - did not fix the problem. My second attempt was to adjust the clutch on the sunroof motor. MBenz has informed me that the sunroof motor is located above the front dome light. If I get a chance this weekend I will attempt to remove the headliner to take a look at what is going on. I will pass my findings along to you.

Sunroof Bind
Mine did the same thing.. I noticed that there was a little screw loose on the rail. It seems to be where the rail looks like it splits. By the way this happened right after the dealer replaced the rubber web on both sides.. They started to ripped from dry rot I believe... Is your car still in warranty ? Take it back...
