Two easy weekend projects failed
I have done a lot research here before I did these two projects. Project One: I tried to pull out the instrument cluster, I pulled it very hard with self-made tools, it would not come out at all, not even a bit.
Project two: I tried to replace the tumbler, I could not pull out the balck sleeve around the tumbler. Please help. Thanks.

Try pushing out from underneath the dash. Also try disconnecting the speedo cable at the trans to give that cable some slack.
The black sleeve should slide after you use loosen small allen in the door jam. Haasman

The self made tools may be the problem - with the factory tool it should not be that difficult. Do you mean the ignition tumbler?

It could simply be an issue of not pulling hard enough on the panel. I made tools out of some coat-hanger wire (about 1/16" diameter) and they held fine, but the panel took quite a bit of pressure to free on my 210. Pull one side at a time until you free the clips.

There are indents at the back of the body of the cluster near the clips (not the front edge or the cluster or at least not as effective) And yes you have to pull very hard.

And be careful not to break the glass on the cover. It takes a little force.
