Hi.
car is 92 500sel. Split climate control.
Everything was fine until recent. My recirculation button started blinking and hot air blows out defrosted vents. Climate control does not work. When car is restarted climate control works, sometimes even restart doesn't help. I checked and sealed my recirculation vacuum pods tubes assuming there is a vacuum leak there. It helped. But after driving for 20 minutes climate control shut down, recycle started blinking again. What am I missing here? More vacuum leaks somewhere?

Do a diagnostic test. Click on the attached link, and scroll down until you see the test procedure. The AC system in this car is very complicated, and many things can go wrong. The best place to start is by pulling codes.

That happens when the system goes into a failsafe mode MB calls that FOM..

IF a A/C/C system consumer draws excessive current OR a sensor fails then FOM happens!!..aux water pump OR heater valve are the most common problem..but there are 10 other parts that can cause that problem!

MB Doc: Actually my "rest" function does not work well. Also heat was not Hot, rather very warm but not Hot as my friends c43amg. I was suspecting my aux heater pump but I didn't know that shorting pump can cause for the whole climate control to fail. Will try to check it.
