Unhappy 1998 e320 Hood's Stuck

hi guys i have a problem wiht my car .. maybe someone can help?? my hood won't open .. one of the locks pop but the other one doesn't i dont know what happend it was so sudden.. one day i went to open the hood and it wont open.... i dont thinnk the cable broke cause i peeked under the hood from the side that was open and i hooked the wire wiht a hanger and pulled it and nothing happened... when u pull the hood release the cable going to the other dise moves but the lock doesn't pop . i pushed and pulled on it while someone was pulling the lever and it still wont open ... i aint know what else to do

This is a new ploy by Mercedes to sell more cars/vans/suv's etc.
You can only open the hood so many times and then it locks shut..

Sorry...looks like you will be needing a new car soon...btw, I have a nice 1983 300d for sale without this feature !

hood

Well, the problem is that your cable is, well faulty. In order to release your hood, you have to do it manually. You need to remove the plastic cover on the underside of you car. Reach up (behind the headlight units, depending on which side is stuck) and find the hood latch, you will have to unlock it by pushing it sideways.

You will need good fingers ('eyes') as you will not able to see the hood latch. If you were within our coverage area, we would send a field techinican to assist you.
