2002 W210 E55 Auxiliary Fan problem. Help, please.
Hey guys,
I'm new to this forum, so Hi everyone. I have a problem with my 02 E55. It's getting hotter and I noticed that my AC is sort of weak while idling. While checking out the pressure I notices that two small fans in front of condenser are not engaging. Plus my car runs a little bit hotter when I turn on AC or when it's hot outside (about 10 degrees more, at about 95 or so.). Now, I checked the fans, and they are working, I connected them straight to a jumper and they spun perfectly. Fuses are all good. I checked 4,7,20. And I also checked every other fuse just in case. Right now I'm convinced that it's a relay. So my questions are: 1. Which relay is it and where is it located?? Can I download a map or smth? 2. Can it be smth under the rear seat?? (Fuse, relay)?? 3. When you turn on the AC to max, auxiliary fans should engage immediately right? 4. Any advice on how can I test the thing or if the relay is working or not. Please let me know, I would greatly appreciate the answer. |

Is your refrigerant level low?
Is the compressor coming on? |

If I drive faster it's blowing ok, good cold air, but in city driving or idle it's weak, cos those fans are not coming on and don't cool the condenser. So it's working on engine fan and incoming air alone. I just called the delaer and asked them for a aux fan relay, they couldn't find it!! They were asking me for a part number, damn it. I think that relay is under the hood next to fuse box, but which one is it?? And how do I test it? Update. Another dealer told me that it's not a relay, it's some sort of regulator switch, for around 200$. 027-545-80-32 025-545-32-32 Part nubers he gave me, told me that it's one of those, and that it's located below left front lamp. Do you know how it looks like? I pulled back the lamp washer door and I can see sqaure silver metal module - is it it? Or is it smth small? How do I test it?
