Code 10 193 300te
HI, I just bout the care and got code 10 after 400 miles. On this site it appears to be Air Mass but when I checked witht he local mercedes speacialist he said it was an o2 sensor. THe air flow was changed by the former owner about 2 years ago by the way at a nother mercedes place (not dealer). So I changed the o2 sensor using bosch 15729 )4 lead universal ford mustang 1990). And the o2 light went out. Didnt come on againfor about 2 days. Now off again after reset about 100 miles. Read all the posts and ordered new plugs but unsure how to tell if I need the wires with the 90 degree bend or the flexible ones. I could replace what is there (havn't openin it up to look yet- but how do I know if tehy are correct or are both types (of 23 wire ) interchangable? Thanks for your help - love the car. Marc Ps. Code 10 only comes up each time. and I have the 3.2 engine

Spark plug wires and other maintenance
Oh, also since I am going to change the spark plug wires anyway any thoughts on how to determine or if it matters which type (the 90 bend or the flexible) iscorrrect- I have no idea if the right ones are currenly in the car although from the records it appears that it was services by a mercedes knowlegable repair shop since 90000 miles to the time I bought it at 117000 miles. I also intend to change the gas filter and air filter. (any tradeoffs with
the Mann filter vs K&N and finally and other maintences I should do just to know when it was done (The auto trans was just rebuilt so I don't think that chaning its fluid is necessary) and lastly at this milage can I change to fully synthetic Mobile 1 and if so what weight (I live in California near Salinas). Well I'm getting reved up. THanks Again Marc |
