Mine are too new to judge rotor wear. I think theres a slight increase in pedal pressure, but I'm not sure if thats due to the pads or new rotors.

Porterfields perform as good as the OEM and last longer. They probably wear the rotors a bit more, though. Only drawback is the high cost.

A couple of the aftermarket pads have offered excellent results. Two brands I like a lot are ROFREN (Swiss) and REMSA (Spanish, may be produced in USA now). Both these pads are quiet, offer excellent cold braking performance and an OE feel. They give up nothing to the Pagid/ATE pads. The dust is reduced by at least 75%, perhaps more. These two brands are no harder on the rotors than a Pagid.

I simply won't put up with the heavy dusting any longer...not with an alternative like this.

I just installed Mintex red box on the 1999 diesel this past week. Dusting seems to be excellent, don't have enough miles to offer any further thoughts. They certainly brake better than the Pagids removed, but I think there was air in the lines.

400 miles since last cleaning:

Been using them for 3 years & love them.
No dust to speak of, no squeeling & no excessive rotorwear in 50 k miles.

Good to hear. I know they're very popular with the wannabe street racer crowd - - I guess that's why I've avoided them. i believe they are the mildest of the Mintex brand. I hope they work out - - they seem very decent in the 100 miles I've traveled so far.

I was sold some "high-performance" pads for my motorbike. It was a horribly mis-guided recommendation on the part of the dealer and they were crazy expensive. They literally would not stop the bike 'til they were burning hot. Utterly useless in traffic not to mention the danger of not having functional front brakes.

It's amazing how many people ( mostly younger & inexperienced ) will buy brakes because they are " High Performance " or " Racing ",not realizing exactly what you said.
Unless you get them pretty much glowing hot, they are actually unsafe for the road.
