1982 240D Headlight problem
My left headlight is out. I don't have voltage at the plug. I have traced it back to a harness that goes over the wheelwell, by 2 relays. I don't have electrical scematics for the car, can anybody tell me where the wires go? The right headlight and center high beams work fine. Thank you!!!

It goes to the fuse box

Check your fuses...there are usually seperate fuses for right and left headlights (for safety - so if the fuse blows it won't knock both lights out). I would bet a nickel you've just got a blown or broken fuse. Clean up the contacts before replacing it. Here's the electrical service data for your car, look at Page 10:

sweet!!
This has been driving me absolutely batty. I've replaced my right headlight twice and it still doesn't work. It never occured to me that merz might use separate fuses for left and right. I will give that a try.
