190e 2.6 engine codes-different socket
Hello, I have a 1990 190e 2.6. I built a homemade code reader and I can pull codes but I do not know which system the pins are for. This is because the MB manual says it should have an 8 pin diagnostic socket but I have a 16 pin socket! Only pins 1,2,6,7,and 14 are used and pin 1 is the ground pin. Can anyone please direct me to the individual system each pin is for?
Another question is regarding the 9 pin diagnostic socket by the electronic ignition on the driver’s side engine bay. Are there any guides to recovering and using the codes from this socket? Thanks |

I'm sure you really meant pin 3 not 2:
pin 3 - CIS-E (fuel injection) pin 6 - SRS pin 7 - A/C (HVAC) pin 14 - MAS engine control Not entirely sure how to access codes from the 9 pin, but I know you need a multimeter with a duty cycle function.
