Okay, since the demise of the M116 in my 420SEL (not worth the cost to rebuild topend) I've decided to pick up a lower mileage M117 motor to drop in.
First, the M117 is a direct swap for my M116 correct? I plan to yank the trans with the motor to assist in labor on my end and lower mile parts. Next, the M117 I am probably going to purchase has around 140K miles on it. Since it will be out, should I replace all of the chain guides with the chain and tensioner too? Anything else I should consider while the motor is out? Maybe oil pan gasket? Rear/front main seal? ![]()
