Hi everyone! My MB 300SL -91 takes a few seconds to start when it's cold. The start-engine has to go for 4-5 seconds before the engine starts. I think this is a little too long. Maybe I just have to accept this - I mean, it's 10 years old but Hey! - It's a Mercedes! Is there something I can do about this? Is it common on this engine? Thanks!

If you are equipted and prepared to do the tests listed in the DIY section under "Evaluating engine controls", I would be glad to go over your results or give direction. I would test EHA current to see if cold start enrichment is taking place. If totally dead I would suspect the OVP relay.

If you are not prepared to do those tests you should find someone who can.
