On my engine, M103, the coolant drains from a petcock on the passenger's side bottom of the radiator with a male fitting that one may attach a 12mm ID hose to, and on the passenger's side of the block under the exhaust manifold (between #4 and #5?) there is a male fitting for a 14mm ID hose and a hex head (17mm?) to slacken/tighten - drain/seal the block. There is also an 8mm bolt on the driver's side near the water pump on the head that allows for air bleeding as you refill the reservoir.
Hope your engine is similar. BTW I think the best way to save some large $$ is to sometimes spend some small $$ . I'd buy the service manuals - on CD if available. You might start at http://www.mbca.org Best

Ron, I'd strongly suggest you do a search on such topics as "spark plugs" or "tuneups" as you will pick up some very valuable information. It frequently isn't as simple as gapping a plug, you get into types, tools, etc. It is a worthwhile way to spend an hour or two on this great site. Knowing how to remove and prep the spark plug boot is worth the time alone. Good luck.

service
You can get the service cd in parts shop right here. MB has a recommended procedure for most jobs and it is best to follow it closely, otherwise your local mechanic/dealer may in the end make more money off you than you save!
Good luck

The Changin' 'O The Green...
Quote:
You need Mercedes-Benz Antifreeze Anticorrosion Agent, Part # Q 1 03 0002. It sells at FastLane for $11.98. You will need one gallon of that, and another gallon of store bought distilled water, or the special demineralized radiator water that is available from Pep Boys. Mix 50/50. I also suggest a pre-flush with Mercedes Benz Citris cooling system flush, Part # 000-989-10-25. Get those leprechauns out of your car's cooling system.
