i have a 87 190d the warning lights stopped working and on the car is dead no charge signal for the alt. can someone please tell me what controls the light thanks steve

If it's the instrument panel lights...then it's the black knob located on the cluster (looks like the clock knob) just rotate it to adjust the light. Check your fuses as well.

Not sure, but I think he is referring to lights such as "anti-lock, seat belts, battery, SRS"? I do not think that knob controls those lamps.

Sounds like a fuse issue anyway, as you mentioned, or perhaps an electrical short.
