Is there NO receiver/drier in my Benz's AC system???
I've just compared my '99 E320's AC system to a common (or general) AC diagram. The common system diagram shows a receiver/drier, but my E320 has something in the drier's position that looks completely different. What is this device that Benz uses instead of a receiver/drier?
(On the other hand, I did a google auto part search on '99 E320 driers, and many came up. But the pictures showed something completely different than what's under my hood..!). Confused... |

ALL MB a/c systems have a receiver drier..at least from 1968 thru 2007..
ON your car the drier is located behind the left (drivers) side headlamp.

You will only see the top of it, behind the headlight. The rest of the "can" part hangs below sheet metal IIRC. So it won't necessarily look the same as it does in diagrams. It should have a pigtail for the pressure switch going to it. I just changed one out last October so I know it's there...
