I've been told by the dealer that there is evidence of rust in the fuel distributor of my 91 300SE. I don't have technical expertise in this area, but my gut feel is that this engine would not be turbine smooth accelerating through red line if rust was a real problem.

In that light, what are the symptoms of a failing/failed frequency valve, overvoltage protection relay and oxygen sensor? Should I expect a noticeable change the idle or ability to idle if I disconnect these components one at a time? Again, it's velvet above 1,000 rpm.

Is there a limit on how many ways I can pester the forum with this problem?

Thanks,
Sixto
