I know where the #1 cylender and have the timing light connected to it but the shop manual is very unclear where exactly to set the timing mark. The car runs nice and smooth but starts hard and I just know it's because I guessed at the timing and put is "about" where it was. Please help me.

timing on the 420 sel is not adjustable by conventional means, it has an ezl that does the timing adjustments when needed. if the timing is off, then the vacuum hose maybe off or leaking, the timing resistor plug may be out or defective, or the ezl it's self is bad
