Exclamation 1989 190E Tune-up disaster...

Okay peoples, this is how it went...

1. A rough running car, to a tuned-up car...that won't run.
2. I did everything everyone suggested...I even checked the negative
ground wire...
3. I have replaced fuel pumps, fuel filters, fuel relays...I even started to
change the fuel injector ports...
4. Elanore took a turn for the worst (Why did you do this to me Eleanor???)
The starter went out and I know it is on the firewall, but I could not get
the bolt assenbly off the starter because the bolts are against the
firewall.
5. I tried my very best ya'll...and she still will not act right (much like the
owner)
6. I had to shoot her to the shop...I am very ill about it...
7. Thank you all once again, and if you have more suggestions, please do
tell.

Question

So what's that thing I was knocking my hand up against when I was trying to get it out? It sucked! Anyways...if the first cylinder is dead in front of you then how did I get that tore up...Good news...it was the starter...bad news, now my rear passenger window decided to take a trip down...found out it was a clip....anyone know how to get into the door sans ripping it off?
