Simple 03 E320 Question

About a month ago I sold my 98 E320 and and yesterday bought an 03 E320. I tried to look the car over thoroughly. The car seems straight and tight but I made an obvious oversight when, after I had paid for the car, noticed it was missing a front license plate bracket (required where I live). The lot where I bought the car said they would take care of it but, after calling a local MB deaer in the area and finding out that the bracket is about 60 bucks, I'm concerned that the used car lot where I bought the car will try to renege, or scab something on the car that is inappropriate. I also noticed there are no apparent holes in the front bumper/shroud for a license plate bracket. The question is "does the front license plate bracket clip on the front bumper or do holes need to be drilled in the bumper"? Also, is the bracket available for less than $60? The MB dealer I talked to needed the VIN number of my car to establish the correct part saying there were 21 different license plate brackets available. Thanks for any help.

Whats the big deal, if you need it in the state you live, have the dealer you bought it fron buy OEM, and just be happy.

Anyone else have a suggestion???????????????

Amazing! Pays probably $30,000 + for the car and quibbles over whether the license plate bracket can be had for less than $60!

The obvious question is , " How in the world would the members of this forum know the answer when the poster already stated that there are numerous variations that depend on the VIN."

Just feeling logical this morning.

You get to drill your own holes.

The bracket is plastic, too.

Thanks IKCHRIS. I was kind of afraid of that. It's a shame to have to drill holes in this beautiful front end. What surprises me is that the car came from the state where I live, yet there are no signs of a front plate bracket ever having been on the car. I had a very reputable body shop check the car for any paintwork and they found no sign of any damage or repaint, including the bumpers.

Oh, and thanks for your logical response to my question, too, SOFTCONSULT. I'll make sure I always pay full price for everything from the dealer from now on. The heck with Fastlane. $30K plus! I'm laughing out loud! Funny, but I always thought this website was here to help each other, not insult each other.
