Cool Red line transmission oil 300-E

Has anyone got some feedback on using Red line ATF for a fluid & filter change on a 1992 300-E M103 983 model. Other than the fact that it comes at caviar prices I have used in in my 1987 Ford Mustang LX 5.0. with no problems both engine and transmission manual 5 speed.

But I am not sure about the Mercedes?

Don't laugh I am serious.

As long as it's fully Dexron III compatible it should be fine. I ran Mobil 1 ATF in an 87 SDL and 95 S420 with no problems.

Thumbs up

I have used it in my 500E for 6 years and in my previous MB ; a 1992 190E 2.6 for almost the same...no problems in either, in fact I felt it improved the way the tranny shifted.

Of course, MB only recommends their own stuff but that doesn't mean there aren't other products that works as well if not better than MB brand stuff.

Cool Red line Dextron 3

Well I just put in an order to Red line for a case of their D4 ATF Dave in customer service said that is compadible with Dexron 3 . Aslo add a case of 10w/30 synithic motor oil to try out and some high tempture grease for the wheel bearing.

I appreciate your feed back, I will let you now how the car drives after I have it in.

Thank You Again

Hmm... not sure about the engine oil. AFAIK those engines are spec'd for -40 and -50 oil.
