Question 99 e320 window regulator

Could someone inform me on how to remove the rear right door panel on a 99 e320, to replace the window regulator? I am having problems removing the panel to repair the regulator. Also Is there any special tool that I will need to perform this task? thank you for you help.

You need a door-panel clip remover tool, available at most auto-parts houses.

First remove the two screws that hold the door pull to the door. One is behind the trim panel under the interior latch, the other is behind a small round plug at the under the door pull. Also unscrew and remove the lock knob.

The clips go around all edges except the top edge (by the windows). Very carefully remove the clips; ensure that the clip tool engages the clips and not the door panel itself, or you'll either unglue or break the plastic clip retainers in the trim panel.

Once you get the panel clips all removed, you need to carefully pry the trim panel up at the top, to disengage the clips at the windows. It comes out pretty hard. Try to not break the trim panel in the process.

Once it's free, disconnect the cable for the interior latch release handle and the wiring connector at the window control switch.

Keep track of where the white and green clips are located in the panel, in case any fall out while you're working on it. Might as well get a few of each before you start.

Assembly is the reverse, but make sure that the lock knob control rod is pointing through the hole. Put the top in place first, and push down until it fully seats (try to not dislodge the clips in this process), then push in all the clips.
