As per my thread about the ignition resistor on my euro w123 280 1979, the ignition resistor has broke and the previous owner bridged the wire. i found the bracket of the broken resistor, which is red in color and 1.0 stamped on it.

i have an 0.6 as well as 0.4 resistors, my question is can i put this resistors in serie to obtian the required 1.0 resistance, i will thus be using two resistors in stead of the one 1.0.
