SRS light reset, need help...
I have a S420 '95 in which I decide to change the broken cruise control switch. It was my mistake that I didn't follow the instructions where they said to disconect the battery, so while I was working at it I decided to open the window and I put the key ON while the air bag unit was disconected. And that was it, the SRS light came on and stays since on. I know that everything is ok because before it never light up and the only thing I did to it it was disconecting the airbag. Please I need some help to reset this light. Thanks

Maybe in US, currently the car is in Mexico and I don't think the FEDERAL does apply here. Plus I think the FEDERAL applies to shops or commercial facilities not to individuals.
I still need help to reset the light otherwise I'll have to remove the bulb out, and maybe I'll get into a FEDERAL witness removal program, lol. |

MB Doc - couldn't he read/reset the codes on the 38 pin adapter (pin 19 is SRS i think) - or is there another system that needs to be reset.
Does the 1995 w140 require the hand held tester or can it be read/reset with a simple impulse display?

To start with all MB's from 1988 require a scanner to bring up & erase SRS codes...The 1994 & later MB's require digital scanner equiptment to do that!
That includes Mexico!

What type of Scanner are you guys reffering to?
I got a 2003 w220 s500 that the SRS light come up on. I've traced the problem to a Driver's air bag that was replaced and the wires were badly spliced (not soldered). So now I need to reset it. What's the easiest way and what kind of scanner do I need? an OBDII scanner? |

I think they are referring to a $2500 scanner.
