trans problem

jorge,if you had way too much fluid in your trans it would be coming out of the o'flow on top of the case.your problem with this mechanical trans is that a little filter screen smaller than your little finger nail is partially blocked with dirt and is starving the govenor for fluid.when this happens the command signal for top gear goes away and the valve body drops to the next lower gear that the fluid pressure out of the govenor can support.if you stop the car and then start off again chances are that some of the dirt will fall back away from the screen and enough fluid will flow back through the govenor to hold top gear until the next time it blocks. david s poole european performance dallas tx dspoole@joimail.com
