The yellow w123 was the official MB dyno warmup car for over 20 years. It was taken off the line and sent straight to that department. Rarely sees light of day. Currently has 23k miles on it, and it's only (ONLY) been used to warm up the dyno for its whole life. Oddly, it has a lot of oil on the underbelly - I don't think there is such thing as a w123 without an oily underbelly.
The 450SEL beneath it was refurbed by the classic center - has 235k miles on it and it looks brand new. Amazing. The list back there includes an S-class from every era, but also a 6.3, a 3.5 convertible (two actually), 560SL, and 560SEL. The cars on the right (first photo) are all US cars, the cars on the left (second photo) are all German-spec cars. Every one of them now gets "exercised" occasionally. To get there: Address is 9 Whatley near Bake Parkway and Hwy 5. Pretty much exit Bake, go north of highway, take the first right, then take next right. Very cool place and definitely worth seeing.
