1994 E320 wagon MPG question

My wife LOVED her 1984 300D wagon and hated to sell it. We bought a 1994 E320 wagon and was wondering what we should expect for mileage pre gallon. The car has 115,000mi. It runs great. Let me know what you are getting.

In my last car, which was a '93 E320, I averaged 21.5 mpg in mixed driving over a total 5 year ownership.

I'd routinely get about 20 in city driving, and as much as 26 mpg in all freeway driving.

Gearing is different between the wagon and sedan. Wagon is numerically higher, which is actually a lower set of gears, hence the lower mileage.

Mileage is a tough nut to answer. We live in a very hilly area and I get about 17/19 with a '94 wagon, but I am easy on the pedal and do not use a lot of A/C. It doesn't get any better on the flats because a lot of time is spent in traffic idling at signals.
On the fwy. at 65-75 it is about 25/28 mpg.

Thanks for the replies. We also have a '99 Toyota Four runner Limited. We need to msell the Mercedes or the four runner. The Mercedes has 115,000mi and the Toyota has 86,000. The Toyota only gets 17mpg with a good amount of that being freeway. I have read about alot of problems with the '94 Mercedes but I think that it is still a real nice car.

It depends on the outside temp. I do all highway driving and get 23-24 mpg when it is higher than 65 F outside and no worse than 20 mpg when it get below 60 even down to 0 F.
