The 124 CD's are very clear. When you say "un-readable" I suspect that you need to click the "full size page" button in the acrobat reader. Another option is to use the magnify tool to magnify the immage. Another option is to increase the screen display resolution on your monitor.
Any or all of these will make the manuals very clear and readable. The printed images are also very good. You can also copy the CD's to your hard drive to improve access speed and to avoid the intro screen. I posted those procedures a month or so ago. I have now become a fan of the CD's over paper manuals.
