Auxillary Fan Switch - 500 SEL Euro
The auxillary fan in my 1983 500 sel euro is always on. Could someone point out where the switch is located and why this may be happening. I searched the archives, but could not locate an answer.
Thanks. |

Hi There,
There are two switches I believe, A High speed switch on the thermostat housing, and a low speed switch on the air conditioning reciever dryer.

Thank you very much. It is the high speed unit that is malfunctioning. Is that just a thread out old and thread in new repair or is the system under pressure?

If you wait until the engine is cold and then vent any pressure by removing the coolant reservoir cap, the old one just threads out easy. You'll need some coolant to top up with as your bound to lose some once the switch is removed.
