I need advice!!!
I have a Mercedes 1989 300E. I have quite alot of maintenance to do on my car and need some advice what to do in order of importance. The car is not giving me any problems but I want to do this work at bit at a time mostly because I can't afford to do everything at once. Here goes;
1) my transmission pan gasket is leaking (slowly) 2) rear suspension sway bars links are loose and need replacing 3) Cylinder Head is starting to leak at rear of cylinder head and front upper timing cover is leaking oil very slowly. which is most important to do first?? Any and all answers would be helpful because I don't know the first thing about mechanical issues. Thanks [/FONT] |

I would take care of #2 first. That is more of a safety issue. If the trans leak is the pan gasket, that should be an easy fix and if the trans fluid and filter haven't been changed lately, do that at the same time. But keep an eye on the trans fluid level. #3 is a nuisance and more $$ to fix. It can wait, just keep an eye on the oil level. |
