380

if you are using the injection setup from the 380, i presume you have installed the 380 in take manifold together with the warm up regulator and 380 fd. Then you dont need the brain from the 420. if i where you i would stick the ignition distr. from the 380 in the 420, and hook it up to the ecu from the 380.

the flooding on both banks means that the injectors are are letting in to much gas. this can only happen if your fd is faulty, but if it worked just fine while it was on the 380 perhaps the plunger piston is stuck.

if you depress the air plate does it move with a resistance to the touch, if i where you i would remove the fd, and check the piston for movement.

well. When the key is on, the plunger has resistance instantly. You dont even need to crank it. It takes effort to push it down. The piston is inside the fd correct??? i mean it is like a variable resistor and adds fuel according to the plunger position. I am sorry for bugging people about this, but i would HATE to give my baby up to charity and i swear im almost to that end....

Yes The Piston Is Inside The Fd, But First Try This The C.o. Adjustment Screw Can Be Totally Screwed In, Thus Creating An Overrich Mixture And Flooding, The C O Screw Is Just In Front Of The Fd Viewed From Thr Frond, Take Allen Key Wrench, I Dont Know The Exact Size Know And Screw It Out(counter Clockwise) About 10-15 Turns And Try Again.

Let Me Know And We Can Take It From There

380/420

if you will jump the fuel pump relay so that the pump is running and listen with the hood up you will probably hear the injectors pissing fuel.if you have the long 3mm tool for adjusting the mixture at the fuel distributor[between the fd and the air plate/flap]turn the tool counter clockwise until you hear the injectors shut up,now turn about 1/8th turn more and the car should start.make sure to change oil because it's full of gas by now. david poole european performance dallas tx.

david have you heard of this flooding problem before???I am just curious. I am going to the snap-on truck tomorrow and getting a 3mm allen screw.

yes bribenz, i have swapped the magnetic pulse generator (the crank sensor) from the 380 and mounted it on the 420 enginge. It had a place to mount it and everything. I just took off the flywheel sensor.
