Question I think someone installed my shifter knob backward...

Does it simply screw on to the shaft or do I need to do something else to correct it? I know it seems like an idiotic question but I'd feel really dumb if I were to break it because I simply didn't ask first.

Thanks,
Chris

Yup, it's backwards. Grasp the knob itself with one hand, then the black plastic collar at the base of it with the other hand. Turn the plastic collar (I don't remember which way) about 1/4 turn in the direction it decides to move (until it stops - it's about 1/4 turn or so). Pull the knob off, reverse it and lock the collar back the other way. That's all there is to it.

Thanks a lot. I knew something didn't look (and feel) quite right about it.
