A/C Compressor upgrade... thoughts?

My 1990 300SE has been retrofitted to R134a, and it seems quite a few parts have decided to fail (probably because I haven't used the AC for about two years...). Presently getting all the parts together to do the job proper... new condenser, expansion valve, drier, and all the new o-rings. Did some research into the compressor. The unit that came with my car is a Nippodenso 10PA17C. Easy to come by, it's used in quite a lot of cars, ranging everywhere from Eagle Talons to 2001 Tacomas. the "17" in the Denso part number indicated the CC's... 170 in the 10PA17C.

Of course, a 10PA20C also works. 200CC's. Found in the Toyota Cressida, Lexus LS, and Acura TL. Has anybody else had any experience with this sort of upgrade, or at least share some insight?
