Help Interpretting engine temp #6 diag reading 96 S420

So are these codes in degC or degF? When sitting cold overnight
my reading is 79 on code #6. When the car
redlines on the dash indicator (125c+) it reads 205. Is that
values that are realistic to come out of my AC diagnostics mode?

Or do I have a defective temp sensor? My actual symptoms are
that my cooling fans don't turn on when my dash shows i'm
overheating (and i already replaced the little sensor to the right,
the single conductor one that seems to run the dash temp gauge).
