That's a real *****, same happened to me! I turned and wiggled etc for about three hours. More and more of the plastic top broke off doing so. The key finally was to cut the top off completely push the rest into the housing (after stuffing paper towels into the bell housing to recover all parts). Good luck, Bruno

I have pondered your statement and cant figure out how you pushed it threw unless you removed the exhaust cross over pipe, oh no you have a six cylinder don't you! well I am down to the metal center section, still trying to work it out.j-n-t

Exclamation still pulling at the metal peace

I am still working at that pesky little metal probe in the bell housing, spray and tug at it to no avail as yet,I have given some thought to removing the exhaust system,to try another angle,IT Shall Not Defeat Me,
I hope not or I sure will look like a real dummy.

Thumbs up Got The Bugger

Well so much for the RPM sensor,I finally got the thing out, though some will be appalled at my method.
I began by removing the exhaust pipes from the engine heads, then the cross over pipe, you just can't see past it!
Thats when I discovered that the aluminum section the probe sat in is bolted to the bell housing, The Engineers did not give access but to one of the bolts.
This is the Part that I'm sure will raise some eye brows, In my fit of anger I thought if I designed a system I would have left an access hole to
take out the second bolt,So I put one in!
Drilled two 1/2 in. holes then used a dremel and coarse sanding wheel,to create an elongated hole,Bolt came out and the removal of the probe was now going to be so much easier. The job is now complete one more idem is that I also, shaved the left side of the probe housing to make a little more room for the 1/4 in 10 m/m socket SEE photo's attached

Cool update

Finished the replacement of the rpm sensor,It fired up and ran but I am getting a lope and as we road tested the car the abs light would come on flashing, then the check eng.light begins to flash, this happens for maybe two min.and goes away, yes it is inter mitten, the Eng.dose run rough during this flashing show, the road test lasted for some twenty miles. We drove into our road and I had to hit the breaks for an animal and it stalled,it would not relight. NOW WE GET BACK TO LOOKING,JUST-N-TIME.
