Help replacing O2 sensor

Hello everyone,

I am replacing the pre-catalytic oxygen sensor in a 93 300TE. I have no trouble locating the spark plug like socket in the exhaust pipe. However, the other end of the sensor cable goes into a hole in the car and goes ... where? A description of the replacement process would be very much appreciated.

Also, I have to replace the mass air flow meter. Don't have the part yet. I understand there are two types, new and old. A description of the replacement process for this part would also be nice.

Regards,
Simulaman

On sedans the wire goes under the passenger side floor mat - may be the same on wagons. I don't think there is an old and new air mass meter - but there is two different engines - 4matic has 103 motor with air mass meter, and RWD has 104 motor with air mass sensor. If it's a RWD 300TE the air mass sensor replacement is essentially self explanatory - take out old one, put in new one.

deanyel: The sensor on the 103 (CIS-E) engine is called an air FLOW sensor (or meter), it is not a mass sensor at all.
