How to install 1989 300e fuel accumalator
Does anyone know on how to install a fuel accumalator in a 1989 mercedes 300E?

Yes, this car has 2 fuel pumps

1) You need a floor jack. I guess you could use the trunk jack, but dangerous. You need to place a jack stand under the car for safety.
2) Jack up the car at the passenger side rear jack point. 3) Crawl under there with at least an 8mm socket on an long quarter inch drive extension. Also take a pair of vice grips , some shop rags, and several metric open end wrenchs. The vice grips and one rag are to squeeze off the fuel supply line from the tank. 4) Use the 8mm socket to take off the plastic cover that protects the pumps, etc. 5) There are 4 things in there. 2 Fuel Pumps, 1 Fuel Filter, 1 Fuel Accumulator. Might be a great time to replace the Fuel Filter. 6) You will be getting fuel all over your arms. You will figure out the rest. Steve |

DO NOT USE A INCANDESCENT DROP LAMP FOR ILLUMINATION. KEEP A FIRE EXTINGUISHER NEAR BY. Also you will need new copper o rings...or anneal the old ones. .
