Cruise Control Problem
My CC on an 99 300Ce works intermitantly. Checked the contacts on the 14 prong connector on the amp and seems good. Any other suggestions?

The curise control amp most likely needs to be resoldered.

I had given up on mine ('86 420SEL); I changed the timing chain this spring, got it all back together (whew!) and, It's a Miracle! my cruise works perfectly.
Guess I jarred something or made contact when I took the actuator off to get it out of the way. Who knows? sometimes we get lucky. |

Try this link. I had a similar problem. The GDL website is good cause it shows you how to test all the cruise parts. Before I went through the tests on the gdl website I actually called the guy, described the issue, and they virtually assured me it was the amp. Told me not to even bother testing the other stuff. Popped in a used amp and problem solved. You can get them used for $50 bucks shipped from www.europeanautomotivegroup.com. That's the lowest price I found on the internet and they give you a 30 day guarantee. The first one surged a bit and they were real good about sending me another one. That one is working great.
