C230 - Rough, missing, coughing problem fixed

My 1999 C230 started having a problem about 6 weeks ago. The symtoms were:

- Hard starting in the morning, ran rough for about 5-10 seconds, then was OK
- Hard starting was worse when it was cold (below 65 deg F)
- Acted like it was dying when I tried to accelerate onto the highway
- Would generally run OK unless I tried to accelerate hard, but got worse over time. Eventually had to accelerate very gently.
- Finally, it stalled at the toll gate entry to the Ohio turnpike. Would not stay started, had to push it off to the side. Waited 5 minutes, started and nursed it home.
- No codes were reported by the OBDII system.

I fixed the problem by replacing the spark plugs, wires, and connectors (aka resistor tips - they connect from the coil to the spark plug). Just thought someone else might have a similar problem and want to know.

Don

PS - it's nice to have the super-charger working again!
