Hi .. I drive a 95E220 [petrol }. its done only 75000kms on clock .. however the car speedo needle wavers when accelarating .. pl tell me why .? I have another problem too .....>> when on any gear (auto ) there is a rattle (constant clatter )coming from the engine .. When at the garage on the Hoist .. it appeared to be coming from the Engine mount (right side ) .. however the sound disappears when in Park or idle .... It is frustating when we stop at the lights ....inside the car the constant (diesel Type clatter ) is pretty audible .. Pl help ! Overall the car is excellant ! !

the speedo bounce might be casued by the speedo cable being bent or otherwise damaged. If its mechanically driven that is..im not sure they were in 95. My 93 190E is.

Electronic speedo on this car,no cable ,just electric connection. Regarding the rattle , check the heat shields at the exhaust manifold and the steering box as they are prone to cracking at the mounting points and can rattle quite a bit.

Speedo

Hi 95' E220 Petrol W124 series .... the speedo is mechanical ... I,m sure ... However with regard to the rattle ... Yes maybe its the Heat shields near the sterring Box .. but why does the sound come only when (AUTO ) gear is in Drive mode ? In neutral Park .. its silent ...... The Mechanic too could not locate the rattle .. ... However when he tightened the Engine mounts reight side Bolt .. the noise came louder ... ... we rail to understand why ?

anyone with a solution ?? HELP ! ! .. thanks Shandy for your advice !
