E300 DT rear shock replacement
I have a 98 E300DT and need to replace the rear shocks. I looked in the wheel well and it looks like the upper mount for the shock is accessible through the trunk and not the back seat (ie my 240D mount was in the back seat). Before tearing the truck liner apart, I wanted to find out how to disconnect the upper mount. Is it through the back seat or the truck?

Trunk.
Gently pull on rear panel and see where it connects to the side panels. There is a hinged clip that holds the two together. There are plugged screws at the bottom of the rear panel.

Thanks Terry.
My E has 185 K. Back end vibrates so I got some new shocks. |

That may be tire, axle or rear end mount related?
FYI - I changed the sway links as well as shocks recently and was very happy with the improvement in handling. The links are ~$15 each.
