420 gauge cluster

How do you get to the bulbs behind the gas gauge and other instrument lights?
Does the plexiglass panel pop out? Almost impossible to reach up behind...

Do a search on removing the gauge cluster. Basically you extend the steering wheel all the way, slide a hook halfway up each side of the cluster and pull it out.

Soo Dave...did U Get The Cluster Out? Ive Been Doing The Same With My 99 E320? Replacing The Bulbs. Be Very Careful Not To Short Out The Display. Also, Its A Gooooooood Idea To Replace All The Bulbs. When One Goes Out...the Others Are Not Far Behind. Should Be Color Coded. Invest In The Mercedes Tool. I Paid About 20 Bucks For The Hooks And Keys. This Serves For The Cluster And The Radio/climate Control. Well Worth The $. Ebay, Recycler, Craigslist, Or Hit Th Stealer. Itll Save You Headaches.
